Kheer, a pahadi sweet dish which is made almost in every festival or on any special occasion in Uttarakhand. It is the most favorite sweet dish of most of the pahadi people. It tastes sweet and delicious. And for me it's like a sweet dish better than any other sweet dish made of food grains.
Ingredients:
- Rice
- Ghee
- Sugar
- Dry fruits viz, almond, cashew, etc.
Recipe:
1) Initially, Boil the milk in a cauldron or any other cooking utensil. Once it is boiled, pour rice into it and let it be cooked.
2) Cook it until the milk gets half and when it's done add fennel, ilaichi and dry fruits.
3) Cook it for 1 hour and garnish with the dry fruits you like.
It's ready to be served. I like chilled kheer so I put it in refrigerator and eat when it is chilled, you can do accordingly.
