Palak Paneer

Palak Paneer is a vegetarian dish from the Punjab region,consisting of paneer, paste made from pureed spinach and seasoned with garlic, garam masala, and other spices.

Palak paneer may be called Saag Paneer in some restaurants in the US. That dish may contain mustard greens or other green leafy vegetables or green vegetables. Dhaba restaurants often specialise in palak paneer.



Ingredients

1)1 bunch Spinach

2)1/2 teaspoon sugar

3)1 tablespoon oil

4)1 cup onion (chopped)

5)2 green chilies

6)1/4 cup cashew nuts

7)1 tablespoon ginger

8)1 tablespoon garlic

9)1 black cardamom

10)1 Cinnamon

11)4 cloves

12)1/2 cup tomatoes(chopped)

13)1 teaspoon red chilly powder

14)1 teaspoon Garam masala

15)Salt as required

16)200 grams Paneer

17)1 teaspoons Fenugreek leaves(dry)

18)2 tablespoon Cream



METHOD

1. Blanch spinach with sugar in boiling water for 2 minutes.

2. Heat oil and fry onion, cashew nut and green chilly.

3. Blend the spinach with onion mixture to make a smooth spinach puree.

4. Heat oil in a pan and add garlic, ginger, black cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and stir.

5. Then add tomatoes and fry until it becomes soft.

6. Add red chilly powder, garam masala, salt and stir for 2 minutes.

7. Then add the spinach puree and stir. When the gravy comes to boil, add the paneer and mix well.

8. Add fresh cream and serve hot.
